How To Develop A Sliding Barn Door Leisure Center:  The Approach

Action 1)  Build The Body

The frames are very self-explanatory but I have provided a finished photograph as very well as a thorough diagram.  I produced three different consoles so that is why you see  6 of these frames.

Action 2)  Add The Sides

Connect the three/4″ plywood by 1st implementing a bead of wood glue all around the edge of the plywood and safe using 2 1/2″ screws.  Repeat with just about every area.

Action three)  Connect to the wall.

I apologize but I forgot to consider a photograph of the body set up just before experience body, cabinets and cleats were being set up but I have provided a diagram below to give you the measurements.

I set up tongue and groove auto-siding for texture which shows by way of the open back facet.  Another fantastic plan would be to paint a contrasting paint shade or incorporate a pleasurable wallpaper on the wall behind the console.

Action four)  Add The Experience Body

Action 8)  Make Doors

You could also make common shaker cabinet doors subsequent this tutorial listed here. 

 

Rip plywood to 20″ x 30″ panels (or measurement of opening).  With nail gun, connect the two 30″ trim boards to the plywood panel.

Double check out your measurement and minimize the remaining trim boards to finish the doorway panel.  Attach with nail gun.

To build the diagonal layout shown on my amusement heart, your board will be 29 1/4″ lengthy from corner to corner with an angle of 28 levels.  Again, connect with nail gun.

Stain or paint doors (or both equally!).  I painted mine Sherwin Williams Iron Ore to match the body. (This is the similar shade Cassity painted her interior doors and colorwashed her barn doorway listed here to incorporate shade even though even now displaying the wood grain.)

Action nine)  Hang Doors

That is it!  Not way too lousy for an overall sliding barn doorway amusement heart, appropriate?  Now it is time for the pleasurable part…the equipment.

I chose chunky baskets, previous trunks and steel containers to decorate our male cave opening shelving.  They incorporate further storage even though keeping a masculine truly feel.
