Prear wants to switch her childhood household into a protected haven for teenagers who require a location to go. She explained the household was sitting empty following her parents died, so she paid a contractor $7,000 dollars to gut it and renovate it.

She explained the contractor still left the household bare, then stopped answering her phone calls and messages for months.

“To just consider off like that – it was seriously further than me,” stated Prear. “I was heartbroken.”

She stated when the house is completed it will give 10 to 14 girls with a location to live. Her intention is to reduce homelessness, teenage pregnancy, lower college dropout premiums and inspire women to rise earlier mentioned their environment.

Prear explained yet another component of her mission is to support modify the stigma of psychological overall health amid teenagers.

“We want to persuade and encourage them to know, just due to the fact you are in a circumstance or you were born in North Tulsa, that isn’t going to outline you,” stated Prear.
